The Hart Library is right across the street
from the Denver Public Library, so it's an easy stop, though it is not
open during the same hours (no evening hours, for example). Among its
strengths is its collection of archived newspapers from the entire
state, most on microfilm As with the DPL, you can check its online

The State Archives is only a two or three
block walk from the Denver Public Library or the Hart Library. It is
open only weekdays. It is cash-funded, so you should expect to pay a
modest fee for records searches and retrievals using staff assistance.
The holdings are massive, but are not cataloged online. You can get

The Rocky Mountain Regional center of NARA in west suburban Lakewood is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am - 3:45 pm. It has 50 microfilm readers and 16 computer stations. Free access to Ancestry Library Edition is available at the archives. Coin operated film printers (50¢ per copy) are available. The counties often hold the records you
need, and may not be available any place else. Be sure to remember
that, especially in larger metropolitan counties, the courts and court
records may be in a different facility (such as a "Justice Center")
which is separate from the county's administrative offices and records,
such as those of the Clerk and Recorder. Sometimes these buildings may
