Comments: Birth, Marriage and Death records for Killingly are available from the early 1700's to the present.  Connecticut town halls hold all original records, with copies after 1897 being sent to the CT Vital Records Dept. In order to access most records less than 100 years old, you must be a member of  an incorporated Genealogical Society such as the Connecitcut Society of Genealogists.  Confirmaton of hours, fees and availability of records should be verified before visiting the office.

Killingly Windham County, Town established in May 1708

Killingly Probate District was constituted June 4, 1830, from the Pomfret and Plainfield Probate Districts. The Killingly Probate District currently serves Killingly. Probate records for the Years 1830 to ca. 1845 were burned.

October 1719-May 1747 Windham District
May 1747-June 1830 Plainfield District
May 1752-June 3, 1830 Pomfret District (covered the two north societies of Killingly, which were later to become the Towns of Putnam & Thompson)
June 4, 1830-Present Killingly District
