When researching names in Norway, remember: Individuals may/may not be listed by their farm or village name; Married women kept their father's first name plus "datter" (for eg. Johan Anderson's daughter could be Inge Johansdatter/ Johanson/Johnsdatter, etc., depending upon the time period; if the father was in the military, she could use his military surname, the patriachal surname, or as stated above.Requests should include full name, exact or approximate birth year, possible farm names.
