John J. Huber, age 95 of Mobridge, died June 14, 1995 at the Bowdle Nursing Home.

His funeral was Friday at Miller Funeral Home in Bowdle with Pastor Mindy Ehrke officiating. Burial followed at the Bowdle City Cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Home.

John J. Huber was born Nov. 23, 1899 at Russia to Jacob and Fredricka Huber. At the age of three he moved with his family to America, settling in the Bowdle area. He did farm work in the Bowdle area and also worked at a diary farm near Mobridge. He moved to Mobridge and began working for the railroad until severe arthritis forced him to retire. He remained at Mobridge until he became a resident of the Bowdle Nursing Home Feb. 11, 1987. This is where he lived the rest of his life.

John Huber enjoyed going for long walks and playing cards. He married Lydia Maier Jan. 20, 1929 at Bowdle.

Survivors include three sons: Leo Huber of Mobridgge; Dale Huber and Terry Huber of Rapid City; two daughters: Mrs. Wayne (Luella) Klien of Belle Fourche and Mrs. Arlene Shadduck of Tacoma, WA; one sister: Maria Huber of Mobridge Care Center; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife on Nov. 22, 1967, three sons, one sister, and four brothers.
