EUGENE ERNST

The funeral for Eugene (Gene) Ernst, age 93 of Aberdeen, was held July 13, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Aberdeen, with the Rev. Curt Seefeldt officiating.

Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Miller-Huebl Funeral Home of Aberdeen in charge of arrangements.

He died Saturday, July 8, 1995, at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.

Eugene Fredrick Ernest was born June 17, 1902, to Jacob and Katherine (Blumhardt) Ernst near Roscoe. School and work in paper.

He married Mary A. Schick in Hosmer. More farming and work in paper.

Survivors include his wife of Aberdeen; four sons: Melvin Ernst, Myron Ernst, Gordon Ernst, all of Aberdeen and LaVern Ernst of Edgemont; five daughters: Mrs. Wesley (Verna) Rueb and Mrs. Lyle (Norma) Fredrickson of Aberdeen; Mrs. Roger (Ruby) Schipke of Bowdle; Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Guthmiller of Mesa, AZ; and Mrs. Daniel (Pamela) Durfee of Redfield; 33 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.Casketbearers were Gary Rueb, Curt Fredrickson, Ronald Ernst, Terry Ernest, Todd Ernst, Marty Guthmiller, Tammy Steffen, Catherine Ernst and Daniel (Joe) Durfee.
