Olivia Leona Hildegarth Fix was born to Adam and Magdelna (Reiner) Schlepp on Nov. 25, 1913 in New Leipzig, ND. She was five years old when her mother died during a flu epidemic. In 1919 her father married Eugenia Dubs and the family moved to Bowdle where she attended grade school. She was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. She entered high school in Bowdle and graduated in 1932.
She married Conrad Fix Feb. 11, 1933 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Bowdle. She worked at the Bowdle Livestock Pavilion for many years. Three children were born to the couple while they lived in Bowdle.
The 1948 they moved to Spokane, WA. In 1949 they returned to South Dakota and lived in Aberdeen for 10 years. She was manager of the Fanny Farmer Candy Store for many years. In 1959 they moved to Minneapolis, MN. She became a beautician and operated a salon in her home for many years.
In 1992 she entered a nursing home at New Hope, MN, due to ill health. Her husband died in 1994.
Survivors include her one son: Wayne Fix of Minnesota; two daughters: Joanne Manley of Rapid City and Kay Uhler of Eden Prairie, MN; three brothers: Elmer Schlepp of Java; Victor Schlepp and Oswald Schlepp of Bowdle; six sisters: Elsie Well of Lang Beach, CA; Dorothea Imbery of Isleton, CA; Ramona Schlepp, Bowdle Nursing Home; LaVaughn Stotz and Karen Weiszhaar of Bowdle and Arliss Blumhardt of Leola; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother Roland.
