VIRGINIA M. VOLLER

The funeral for Virginia M. Voller, age 64 of Bowdle, was Thursday, June 17 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bowdle with Pastor Mindy Ehrke officiating.

Burial followed at the church cemetery in Bowdle under the direction of the Miller Funeral Home of Bowdle.

She died June 13, 1993 at St. Luke's Midland Regional Medical Center in Aberdeen.

Virginia M. Haux was born July 15, 1928 about seven 1/2 miles northwest of Java to Henry and Emma (Pleinis) Haux. She was baptized Nov. 11, 1928 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Java and confirmed there in July 1942.

She attended school in Selby and graduated with the Selby High School class of 1947. She then lived with her parents northwest of Java and helped with housework and babysat for several families.

She married Harold A. Voller October 1, 1950 at Bowdle. For a month they made their home with his parents eight miles northwest of Bowdle and then his parents moved to Bowdle. Harold and Virginia remained on the farm until 1976 when they moved to Bowdle. Harold farmed one more year from town.

Virginia worked at the Bowdle Nursing Home until her health started failing. She also worked at the Rev. Martin Bieber Public Library in Bowdle for several years.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bowdle. She had served as treasurer and president of the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of American (WELCA) and also was treasurer of the Bowdle American Legion Auxiliary Unit.

She is survived by her husband of Bowdle; two brothers: Ervin H. Haux of Selby and Elmer H. Haux of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, Canada; two sisters: Mrs. Phillip (Leona) Huft of Roscoe and Mrs. Phillip (Estella) Bast of Flushing, NY.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

Casketbearers were Wilmer Boschee, Art Eisenbeisz, Jr,; Jimmy Jackson, Joe Geier, Everet Lemke and Harold Haupt, all of Bowdle.
