Burial followed at St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery at Hoven with Military Graveside rites by the John J. Peters American Legion Post #149.
Raymond C. Huber was born Aug. 31, 1920 at Hoven to John C. and Barbara (Koehner) Huber. He attended St. Bernard's School at Hoven through the eighth grade. He then attended auto mechanic school at Hoven High School. From 1935 to 1941 he worked on the John Klocker farm west of Hoven.
He was inducted in the U.S. Army July 15, 1942. For 11 month of his enlistment he served in the European Theater in the 95th Infantry Division. Hew was awarded the Bronze Star and the Silver Star. He was honorably discharged Oct. 22, 1945.
Following his discharge he went into construction and retired from Brenner Construction at Hoven in 1981. He spent the remainder of his life in Hoven.
He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church at Hoven and the Hoven Senior Citizens. He was a member of the John J. Peters American Legion Post #159 at Hoven and the Gettysburg V.F.W. He was also a member of the 95th Infantry Division Association. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed doing crosswords and playing pinochle.
He is survived by two brothers: Leo P. Huber of Avenal, CA and Chuck Huber of Sioux Falls; one sister Mrs. Edwin (Alice) Blumhardt of Gettysburg and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
Miller Funeral Home of Bowdle was in charge of arrangements.
