VERDELLA THOMAS

Verdella Thomas, age 59 of Bowdle, died Thursday, June 24, 1993, at her farm home northeast of Bowdle. Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, June 29 at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Bowdle with Fr. Terry Anderson officiating.

Burial followed at St. Augustine's Catholic Church Cemetery at Bowdle with Miller Funeral Home of Bowdle in charge of arrangements.

Verdella Voegele was born July 10, 1933 at rural Roscoe to Anne M. (Hoffer) and Jacob V. Voegele. She attended country schools and graduated from Hosmer High School in 1951. She then taught country school around Hosmer for one year.

She married Albinus J. Thomas August 22, 1952 at Fairbanks, AK. Following his discharge in 1954 they moved back to the home farm northeast of Bowdle. This is where she lived the remainder of her life.

She was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church of Bowdle.

Survivors include her husband of Bowdle; two sons: Jeffrey K. Thomas of San Diego Navel Base and Darryl K. Thomas of Brookings; two daughters: Mrs. Time (Cheryl) Stahl of Tucson, AZ and Mrs. Peter (Charlene) Silkworth of S. West Harbor, ME; one brother: Roger Voegele of Diamond Bar, CA and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Casketbearers were Wayne Fischer of Artas; Dennis Sauer, Ronald Hoffer and Harvey Hoffer of Roscoe; Duane Kilber of Zeeland, ND, and Cletus Thomas of Aberdeen.
