BERNARD GABRIEL

The funeral for Bernard Gabriel, age 82 of Ipswich, was April 22 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Ipswich with the Rev. Marvin McPhee officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Hein Funeral Home in Ipswich.

He died Monday, April 20, 1992 at Colonial Manor in Ipswich.

Bernard Gabriel was born Jan. 10, 1910 to Ignatz and Marian (Weigel) Gabriel in Faulk County near Onaka. He attended school in Onaka.

He married Carolina Meier at Roscoe Sept. 14, 1930. They lived in Onaka where they had a produce business. He later did carpenter work, road construction and did some livestock trucking. He retired in 1983.

Survivors include his wife of Ipswich; two daughters: Mrs. Clem (Lorraine) Binfet of Ipswich and Mrs. Melvin (Gladys) Schumacher of Hoven; four brothers: Paul Gabriel of Sioux City, IA; Leo Gabriel of Ft. Pierre; Frank Gabriel of Bowdle; Lawrence Gabriel of Harrold; four sisters: Kate Keller of Clatskaine, OR; Elizabeth Giesinger of Worthington, MN; Ann Lentz of Hartington, NE; Phyllis Nichols of Sioux City, IA; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.

Pallbearers were Bruce Schumacher of Gettysburg; Bob Lehman of Canton; Donald Miller of Ipswich; Joe Meier of Aberdeen; Leo Gabriel of Ft. Pierre and Lawrence Gabriel of Harrold.
