William (Bill) Dahlquist was born at Mobridge on Dec. 8, 1927, to William and Lillian (Schrunk) Dahlquist. He attended public school at Selby, graduating in 1946. More on military service in paper.
He married Marian A. Hausman of Mobridge on Jan. 9, 1950. They lived in Mobridge where Bill worked as an auto mechanic for the Ford Garage. In 1956 they returned to Selby and he began a 17-year employment with Delzer Construction.

Survivors include his wife of Selby; one son: William L. Dahlquist of Sioux Falls; two daughters: Patti Wessel and her husband, John of Mitchell; and Mari Lynn Tillma and her husband, Dan of Aberdeen; one brother: Duane W. Dahlquist of Selby; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
