He died Feb. 15, 1995 at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls.
Arthur H. Sonnenfeld was born on Sept. 2, 1922 at Hosmer to Jacob and Martha (Pressler) Sonnenfeld. He grew up and helped on the family farm and attended rural school. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
He married Olivia Holzworth at Zion Lutheran Church in Eureka on Sept. 5, 1943. He continued to farm with his father until 1945.

Survivors include two sons: Cleo Sonnenfeld of Alta Loma, CA; and Paul Sonnenfeld of Rockwell City, IA; three daughters: Mrs. Dean (Sharon) Erickson, Aberdeen; Mrs. Larry (Judy) Richardson of Yorba Linda, CA; and Mrs. Randy (Paula) Dominicak of Santee, CA; four brothers: Albert Sonnenfeld of Dickson, TN; Curtis Sonnenfeld of Golden valley, MN; Allan Sonnenfeld of New Brighton, MN; and James Sonnenfeld of Oakton, VA; one sister: Alice Copeland of Vallejo, CA; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife who died Jan. 3, 1995, one brother and two sisters.
Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren: Lori Erickson, Heather Dominicak, Brandee Richardson, Allyssa (Sonnenfeld) Gordon, Jason Dominicak, Joshua Richardson, Taryn Sonnenfeld, Christopher Sonnenfeld, Kelly Sonnenfeld, and Tristin Sonnenfeld.
Pallbearers were Jim Thomas, John Schuck, Don Bosanko, Larry Brick, Art Tribble, and Keith Kusler.
