CLARA FUHRMANN

Clara Fuhrmann, age 83 of Onaka, died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 1995 at the Colonial manor of Ipswich.

Her Mass of Christian burial was Saturday, Feb.. 25, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Onaka with the Rev. William Osborn celebrating the Mass. Burial followed at the church cemetery under the direction of Miller Funeral Home of Bowdle.

Clara Leboldus was born July 29, 1911 at Selz, ND to Andreas and Marian (Keller) Leboldus. Her father died in 1918 and in 1923 her mother married Constantine Fuhrmann. More on family in paper.

On May 9, 1932, Clara married her stepbrother, Stephen Fuhrmann at Onaka. More on farming in paper. Stephen died in May 1954 as the result of a plane crash. More on clubs and hobbies in paper.

Survivors include three sons: Jerome Fuhrmann of Onaka; Steve Fuhrmann and Jim Fuhrmann of Rapid City; one daughter: Mrs. Clarence (Marjorie) Waldman of Onaka; one brother: Mike Leboldus of Roscoe; four sisters: Mrs. Barbara Axtman of Selz, ND; Mrs. Caroline Fuhrmann of Aberdeen; Mrs. Simon (Anna Mary) Ehnes of Roscoe; and Mrs. Sebastian (Julia) Gisi of Sisseton; one half sister; Mrs. Mary Eva Axtman of Rugby, ND; one step sister: Mrs. Anna Firestone of Portland, OR; 18 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, one brother, one half brother, one half sister, two step sisters, and two infant grandchildren.

Honorary bearers are Gary Fuhrmann and Shannon Waldman of Onaka; Mark Fuhrmann and Troy Waldman of Aberdeen; Dale Fuhrmann of Colorado Springs, CO; Deanne Juelfs of Ralph; Mike Fuhrmann, Craig Fuhrmann, Kim Dosch, and Jolyn Fuhrmann of Rapid City; and Brenda Fuhrmann of Denver, CO.

Pallbearers were Tom Waldman of Ulysses, KS; Brian Fuhrmann, Jayme Fuhrmann, and Lance Fuhrmann of Rapid City; Galen Waldman of Aberdeen; and Allen Fuhrmann of Watertown.
