He died on April 19, 1995 at his home.
Alfred G. (A) Baus was born Dec. 29, 1919 to Anna (Schaefer) and Louis Baus in Hoven. He attended St. Anthony's School.

Survivors include his wife of Ipswich; six daughters: Mrs. Adolph (Marian) Krumm of Maple Plain, MN; Mrs. Gary (Janice) McChesney of Hastings, NE; Mrs. Francis (Evelyn) Kane of Montrose; Mrs. Niel (Carol) Haar of Bowdle; and Mrs. Paul (Barbara) Hoerner and Mrs. Toby (Kathy) Wolf, both of Aberdeen; two sisters: Mrs. Margaret Hageman of the Oahe Manor Nursing Home at Gettysburg and Mrs. Leonard (Catharine) Frost of Hoven; two brothers: Edward Baus of Seattle, WA and Joe Baus of Edmonds, WA; 27 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, and one great-grandson.
Casketbearers were Jeff McChesney, Robert Krumm, Mathew Wolf, Chad Kappenman, Jason McChesney, Anthony Hoerner. Michael Kane, and David Hoerner.
Chad Kappenman and Cheri Kappenman gave the eulogy. Cory Kappenman and Andrew Hoerner were Mass servers. Dorothy Gisi was in charge of the registry book.
