In two files,
genealog.qc_soc1 and
genealog.qc_soc2, we have a list of Quebec genealogical societies. Part one contains societies of Quebec, foundations, and associations, excluding family assocations. It also contains archives, libraries, and institutes with a genealogical section. In part two are family associations, French-Canadian societies that aren't in Quebec (those in Quebec are in part one, of course), some United States libraries, etc.
Racines du Quebec Project: Building a database of Quebec marriages, including Acadians, old French Forts, marriages and ancestors of settlers (e.g. in France). Most pre-1800 Quebec marriages are included. The project is documented in
genealog.qc_doct. Marriages for grooms with surnames from Abancourt-Lacaille to Aymard are in
genealog.qcaaaz. The file
genealog.qcbabz covers Babeu to Busquet. In
genealog.qccacz are found grooms with surnames from Cabaret to Fribaut. The fourth file,
genealog.qcgald has Gaborio to Lawrence. These are all we currently have. The codes for the locations are defined in
genealog.qc_loct.
