    News of the Family History Library was initially published six times yearly by the Family History Department of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, then shifted to quarterly. We have several issues.
  • genealog.fhlv1n1: Family History Library News, Vol. 1, No. 1, July/August 1989. Information about expanded indexing programs, personal computer software, enhanced catalogs, and new acquisitions.
  • genealog.fhlv1n2: Family History Library News, Vol. 1, No. 2, September/October 1989. Information about United States Research Outlines, Indexing Update, Personal Ancestral File, New U.S. Acquisitions (such as Records of Soldiers' Homes and Passport Applications) and other new acquisitions.
  • genealog.fhlv1n3: Family History Library News, Vol. 1, No. 3, November/December 1989. Suggestions on how to prepare for a library visit, information about an update to Personal Ancestral File, United States indexing projects, and English Marriage records.
  • genealog.fhlv2n1: Family History Library News, Vol. 2, No. 1, January/February 1990. In this issue, they write about their expanding microfilming program, genealogical word lists, additional family history centers, and new research collections. A substantial portion of the issue deals with the upgrade of PAF to version 2.2
  • genealog.fhlv2n2: Family History Library News, Vol. 2, No. 2, March/April 1990. This issue highlights their collections of vital records from New York City; immigration records for the port of Hamburg, Germany; several new genealogical word lists; and a cross-section of compiled genealogical collections.
  • genealog.fhlv2n3: Family History Library News, Vol. 2, No. 3, May/June 1990. This issue gives details about FamilySearch and the CD-ROM versions of the International Genealogical Index (IGI) and the Family History Library Catalog (FHLC).
  • genealog.fhlv2n4: Family History Library News, Vol. 2, No. 4, July/August 1990. This issue gives details about Ancestral File and highlights of their collection of British city and county directories.
  • genealog.fhlv2n5: Family History Library News, Vol. 2, No. 5, September/October 1990. This issue highlights their new collections from Canada, England and the United States, and introduces the Social Security Death Index.
  • genealog.fhlv2n6: Family History Library News, Vol. 2, No. 6, November/December 1990. This issue focuses on the records of hereditary lineage societies.
  • genealog.fhlv3n1: Family History Library News, Vol. 3, No. 1, Winter 1991. This issue announces a new feature of the Family History Library Catalog on compact disk, and recent acquisitions. A clarification is also made about Ancestral File.
  • genealog.fhlv3n2: Family History Library News, Vol. 3, No. 2, Spring 1991. Describes the significant new features of the second release of Ancestral File: Edit and Descendancy Charts.
  • genealog.fhlv3n3: Family History Library News, Vol. 3, No. 3, Fall 1991. (Note that they don't have summer in Salt Lake City?) This issue announces a physical reorganization of the library and answers some Ancestral File questions.
  • genealog.fhlv3n4: Family History Library News, Vol. 3, No. 4, Winter 1991. This issue discusses agreements to microfilm records in Eastern Europe, the Civil War Confederate pension records, and the English Research Outline.
  • genealog.fhlv4n1: Family History Library News, Vol. 4, No. 1, Winter 1992. Discusses the Genealogical Projects Registry, the 1920 United States census, and World War I draft cards.
  • genealog.fhlv4n3: Family History Library News, Vol. 4, No. 3. A review of the status of Ancestral File, the International Genealogical Index, and the Family History Library Catalog. The announcement of Family Search going (sort of) public. And an update on the Genealogical Projects Registry.
