To create your guestbook:
The form for creating your guestbook is located at http://resources.rootsweb.com/~guestbook/FreeGuestbook.html.
You must enter your name, e-mail address, title for your guestbook, and your web site's home page URL (where the guestbook will be linked back to), and a password. The password is so that you can modify the guestbook later.
If you wish, you may supply up to three questions which your visitors can answer in addition to entering their comments.
Last, pick a color to be used when displaying the guestbook entries.
Click the "Create my Guestbook" button and if everything is filled in correctly, you'll go to a page which will give you the HTML that you'll need to insert into your web page. Use copy/paste from your web browser to capture the HTML. You'll also see 3 graphic images that you'll need to download to your computer and then upload to your website.
To edit your guestbook:
The form for editing your guestbook is located at http://resources.rootsweb.com/~guestbook/cgi-bin/edit_guestbook.cgi.
You must enter the guestbook title, your e-mail address, and your password exactly as they were entered when the site was created. (If you've edited the guestbook before, use the current values.)
You'll be taken to a form where you can alter the guestbook's title, your e-mail address, your site's home page URL, and any of the three optional questions.
Click the "Make Changes" button and your guestbook information will be updated.
To delete an entry from your guestbook:
In the event that you want to remove an entry from your guestbook, you can find the form for this at http://resources.rootsweb.com/~guestbook/cgi-bin/delete_record.cgi.
You'll enter the title of your guestbook, your e-mail address, and your password exactly as they were entered when the site was created (or as they are currently set if you've edited the guestbook).
Next, you'll be taken to a form which will list the entries from your guestbook. Select the entry you'd like to remove and click on the "Remove" button to delete this entry.
