USGenWeb Archives Church Records Project

Contributing

Your submissions are what make the archives grow!

The Church Records Project was developed to provide free online data for genealogical research.

The USGenWeb Archives are dependent of volunteers, people just like you, donating their time by transcribing public domain records or other non-copyrighted primary sources. Transcribing records is an incredible gift to the present and future researcher. It requires dedication and patient attention to detail, but is not complicated. Your file contributions help build this repository for all researchers to come. The USGenWeb Archives Project guarantees your information will remain free to all researchers.

Guidelines for File Submission:

  1. Transcribe your data in or convert your document to ASCII Text. This insures everyone has access to the data. Convert all tabs to 5 spaces. Exceptions to the text-only rule are possible. Please contact us if you need help converting your file.

  2. Please use discretion with data about living people.

  3. All data is free to the public. The USGenWeb Archives project will not pay royalties on any submission.

  4. No copyrighted material! However, public domain records cannot be copyrighted.

  5. Attach your document to an email and send it to Kelly Mullins.

Notes:

  1. We retain the right to refuse any submission.

  2. The submitter retains the copyright and is free to publish the same data in other forms. Once submitted, the USGenWeb Archives has non-exclusive rights to display the data, permanently. The following USGenWeb Project Notice will be attached to the file for your protection.
