Travellers say that in no town in the Territories can a better floral display be seen than in Medicine Hat. The residents seem to vie with each other as to who shall excel in horticulture, and consequently geraniums, asters, pi?s, stocks and other favorites have been brough to great perfection. Business for the summer has been very brisk, and the satisfied expression on the faces of our business men is pleasant to behold. Some of them have opened branch stores at Lethbridge, which is soon to become a live and important town. Mr. McCutcheon, our deputy sheriff, is now on a visit to Cornwall, the home of his youth, the first time in eleven years, having come to htis country as a recruit with the Mounted Police in 1874. Mr. Cousins, of Cousins and Scatherd, has gone on a trip to London, combining business with pleasure. Conductors Hall and McGinty are on a visit to the Springs at Banff, and Conductors Robinson and Horrigan are now running passenger trains west. The cattle recently purchased by Dempsey Brothers at Calgary, have given every satisfaction. Our epicures prenounce the beef excellent.
