FORT MCMURRAY
|
This is where the Fort McMurray Genealogical Library can help!
The Library has an extensive collection of Canadian, British and American Genealogical sources as well as research guides for nearly all major countries throughout the world.
The Library has bought sections of the 1992 International Genealogical Index (IGI) - Specifically. U.S.A., England, and Canada.
Through the program " Adopt A Fiche " branch members have purchased and donated: Austria, France, Ireland, Wales, Hungary, Czechslovakia and Liechtenstein areas of the 1992 IGI.
The Library has also retained the 1984 version of the IGI which contains records of over 90 million people.
The volunteer Librarians will be pleased to offer assistance on using the collection and will advise on your personal research. Research is fun and exciting, sometimes frustrating. However, while Librarians are available to assist when you reach a block, they will not do research for you. Our Library now has the ability to bring in Inter-Library Loans for you. Talk to one of our Librarians.
