Liss Farm Cemetery
About 4.5 Km from Sangudo on highway 757, a large boulder can be seen by the road with a brass plate attached.
It reads; Liss Farm Sec 24-T57-R07-W5M Site of the first Paddle River Valley Dominion Farm Illustration Station, operated 1938-1943 under the supervision of Lacombe Experimental Farm in cooperation with John Liss and family.
Another plaque on the same boulder reads; Liss farm Sec 24-T57-R07-W5M Dedicated to the Pioneer Homesteader John Liss & Mary Fridel Liss. Born in Poland 1892 near Borisov and 1903 near Snytyn, erected on their 60th anniversary by their seven children 24 February 1982.
A second boulder nearby serves as a gravestone which reads; Mary Martha Liss (Fridel) 1903-1990 A courageous and gracious pioneer, mother of seven, whose life was dedicated to her family and community.
John (Pozarzycki) Liss 1892-1986 His efforts helped make this a great country to live in.

Mary (Fridel) Liss Pioneer wife and mother; at her husband's side for 64 years; on this virgin homestead, she raised 7 self reliant children with neither running water, gas, plumbing, electricity - nor complaints. Wholesome, self denying, composed, dedicated; with love of her appreciative off spring.
