VEOGT 1907-06-19 - Red Deer, Alberta Died - Chris VEOGT A German named Chris Veogt committed

suicide by placing the muzzle of his gun next to his head and pulling the trigger with his foot.

VERT 1907-06-14 - Stettler, Alberta Died - James VERT A homesteader named James Vert committed

suicide by swallowing a quantity of carbolic acid.

VESTA 1907-01-28 - Port Arthur, Ontario Died - Mr. VESTA As the result of a quarrel, an old man named

Vesta lies at the undertakers and his brother-in-law Frank Vesta is in the cells charged with having

caused his death.

VICE 1907-10-21 - Calgary, Alberta Died - William VICE a well known contractor throughout the west

was killed while attempting to cross the railroad last night. For the past 5 years he has conducted

business in Calgary.

VIENS 1907-05-20 - Portage La Prairie, Manitoba Died - Father VIENS parish priest, died Sat. from

inflammatory rheumatism, aged 44 The deceased came from Quebec to this city 5 years ago.

Interment will take place at St. Boniface, where the body has been taken.

VILLENEUVE 1907-04-30 - Port Arthur, Ontario Died - Brakeman VILLENEUVE The east bound freight train on

the CPR went through the bridge at 10:45 at Nepigon last night. A brakeman, Villeneuve, of

Ottawa was killed. His body has not been recovered. William Fixler, aged 35 years, a resident of

Schreiber was killed and Edward Ande, fireman, were also killed.

VOLEVITCH 1907-02-25 - Edmonton, Alberta Died - Antonio VOLEVITCH The funeral of the late Antonio

Volevitch took place this morning to the Roman Catholic Cemetery. The deceased was a Galician

who died at the Public Hospital on Sat.

VON GRUNEGAN 1907-03-07 - Edmonton, Alberta Died - Rev. John VON GRUNEGAN About 11 A.M. this morning

Rev. John Von Grunegan, who conducted a grocery store on the corner of Fraser and Gallagher

Streets was taken with a sharp attack of apoplexy and he died within a few minutes. The

deceased was about 55 years of age, was a Swiss by birth and had come here about 3 years ago

from Nashville, Tenn. with a Swiss colony which settled near Lacombe. Deceased leaves a wife

and 4 children (3 girls and 1 boy).

WAGNER 1907-12-19 - Edmonton, Alberta Died - Mrs. WAGNER The death occurred yesterday of Mrs.

Wagner, mother of Philip Wagner of Edmonton.

WALKER 1907-07-20 - Edmonton, Alberta Died - Charles Henry WALKER July 15 Charles Henry Walker

died aged 37 years.

WALKER 1907-11-30 - Kenora, Ontario Died - S.W. WALKER who had been missing since last Tues. when

he went skating on Lawrenson's Creek, was discovered about 10 feet from the hole where it was

supposed he had broken through.

WALKER 1907-08-15 - Kamloops, British Columbia Died - Harry WALKER Frank Martyn and Harry Walker,

employees of the Triangle Ranch, Quilchena were drowned in Nicola Lake on Tues. Both men

were from England.

WALKER 1907-01-28 - Regina, Saskatchewan Died - Donald WALKER The fatal Windsor Hotel fire of last

Nov. claimed its fifth victim yesterday when Donald Walker, aged 17, the bellboy who so

heroically roused the guests, died in the hospital succumbing to the injuries he received in

jumping from an upstairs window. He is the son of Agustus Walker of Orillia Ontario and will be

WALLACE 1907-03-15 - Lethbridge, Alberta Died - Breakman WALLACE A brakeman named Wallace was

killed at the Bow or Bow Island on the C.P.R. 75 miles east of Lethbridge. He apparently missed

coupling and then failed to get back quick enough, being caught by the buffers and crushed. The

body was sent to Medicine Hat where the man resided.

WALLBRIGE 1907-01-26 - Edmonton, Alberta Died - J.E. WALLBRIGE The funeral of the infant child of J.E.

Wallbridge took place yesterday afternoon at 3:30 from the family residence to the Edmonton

Cemetery.

WALMSLEY 1907-06-07 - Hamilton, Ontario Died - Samuel (Child of) WALMSLEY At Taylor's Corners, one of

the children of Samuel Walmsley put coke in the kitchen stove and forgot to open the damper.

Mrs. Walmsley was killed by the escaping fumes.

WALTON 1907-02-12 - Napinka, Manitoba Died - James WALTON supposed to be a railroad conductor, was

frozen to death on the prairie near Medora last week.

WANDSBOROUGH 1907-08-29 - Toronto, Ontario Died - Brakeman Edward WANDSBOROUGH In a rear end collision

at Manvers, 70 miles east of here, between two east bound freights, brakeman Edward

Wandsborough of Toronto Junction, was killed.

WARREN 1907-03-07 - Edmonton, Alberta Died - William Anthony WARREN The death occurred yesterday

of William Anthony Warren, the 6 month old son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren. The funeral takes place

tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. March 7 - Edmonton - The death occurred this morning at the

General Hospital of George Oulette, a miner who has been ill for some time with typhoid fever.

WATERHOUSE 1907-11-08 - Toronto, Ontario Died - Miss. Martha WATERHOUSE aged 70 years of London died

last night from drinking carbolic acid in mistake for medicine.

WATERS 1907-07-04 - Edmonton, Alberta Died - S.G. (Brother of) WATERS On Wed. S.G. Waters and his

brother who reside at Bon Accord came into the city to attend the exhibition. While on their way

home last night they stopped at the Sturgeon River to have a swim when the brother got into a

hole and was drowned.

WATKINS 1907-01-10 - Edmonton, Alberta Died - John WATKINS John Watkins died, aged about 50 years.

Deceased was victim of acute Bright's disease. He was apparently in good health until Sat.

morning when he was taken violently ill and had to be removed to the hospital and died there late

that evening. Mr. Watkins was a molster and had been employed for some time at the Strathcona

Brewery. He leaves a wife and 8 children on his homestead 25 miles from Mannville.

WATSON 1907-09-06 - Regina, Saskatchewan Died - Dixie WATSON for many years clerk of the Supreme

Court, died last night as the result of an operation.

WATSON 1907-06-20 - Strathcona, Alberta Died - Wesley WATSON Died on the 19th inst. Westley

Watson.

WATSON 1907-06-05 - Edmonton, Alberta Died - W.J. WATSON who died in this city on the 4th inst. of the

St. James Hotel was a past Grand Master of the IOOF in Manitoba. Remains will be forwarded to

Winnipeg today.
