| William Wells of Battenburg, near the city. The deceased was 85 years of age and a prominent |
| farmer. The funeral will take place from the home of the deceased. |

| to one of the CPR section gangs was killed from being knocked down by a passing train. |

1907-05-27 - St. John, New Brunswick Died - Hiram V. WETMORE a veteran of the Crimean |
| War, was found dead yesterday in a field where he was planting potatoes at South Bay. When a |
| powder boy on a British Man-of-War in the Black Sea at the siege of Sebastopol, Wetmore caught |
| up a live shell and threw it into the sea. For this he received a pension of 2 pounds a year for |
| life. Heart trouble caused his death |
