| DOWNING |
1907-04-26 - Edmonton, Alberta Died - Jack DOWNING The death occurred at the Pendennis |
| Hotel last night of Jack Downing, who had been employed as wine clerk there. He has been ill for |
| the past few days with an acute attack of pneumonia. The deceased was about 35 years of age |
| and leaves a wife and 3 children. |
| DRAKE |
1907-02-02 - Toronto, Ontario Died - Alex K. DRAKE a well known wholesale man of this city, |
| died at the General Hospital early this morning in his 57th year. He is survived by his widow, one |
| brother of Dutton, Ont. and 5 sisters. |
| DREW |
1907-03-22 - Prince Albert, Saskatchewan Died - Frank DREW committed suicide last night by |
| cutting his throat with a razor He was 26 years of age. He came from Indian Head but has only |
| been in the west a short time His home is in Nova Scotia. |

1907-04-08 - Cobalt, Ontario Died - Dr. DRUMMOND died on Sat. He was well known as author |
| of the brilliant Habitant poems. |

1907-10-21 - Hamilton, Ontario Died - William DRYSDALE committed suicide by shooting |
| himself with a revolver Sat. night. |

1907-07-27 - Toronto, Ontario Died - Walter (Dundm) DUDIN A drowning accident occurred near |
| Sunnyside during a thunderstorm Thurs. night when the launch Danline with 10 young men in it |
| upset. Only one survived. Dead are: Joseph Irwin. aged 20, bricklayer; Jack Irving. 20; Walter |
| Dudin (Dundm),20; Frank Kyle. 18; Frank Daly. 19; Dawson Nehrgang, CPR switchman; Gordon |
| LeRoc trainer for the Shamrocks; R.G. Miller. 19; John Irvine. |
| DUGGAN |
1907-12-04 - North Glenco, Ontario Died - Robert DUGGAN CPR agent here, shot himself with a |
| small rifle. He was 55 and leaves a wife and two children. He had been in poor health. |
| DUNN |
1907-12-21 - Fernie, British Columbia Died - D. DUNN aged 27, stepped off the Fernie train at |
| Morissey. He fell across the rails and was ground to death. |
| DUTTON |
1907-06-03 - Okotoks, Alberta Died - Harry D. DUTTON A young Englishman named Harry D. |
| Dutton threw himself into Sheep Creek and met his death, Dutton came to this country about 6 |
| years ago. Lately he had been drinking very hard and this evidently affected his reason, causing |
| him to take his life. He has no relations in Canada and it is not known in which part of England |
| DYMENT |
1907-02-05 - Barrie, Ontario Died - Nathaniel DYMENT Barrie's millionaire lumberman and |
| horseman died this morning after 2 weeks illness. Dyment was born in Exeter, England 74 years |
| ago and came to Canada 3 years later, his father taking up a farm in Wentworth Co. His second |
| wife, formerly Mrs. Black, of Toronto, whom he married a year ago and four children, one being |
| A. Dyment, M.P., Survive him. |
| EATON |
1907-01-31 - Toronto, Ontario Died - Timothy EATON proprietor of the big department stores here |
| and at Winnipeg died suddenly here today from a stroke of paralysis. He was the greatest |
| merchant in Canada and was the founder of the departmental store system in this country. For |
| the past year he had been partially crippled as a result of a bad fall and had been unable to walk |
| but he still took an active interest in business up to the time of his death. |
| EDGAN |
1907-01-30 - Fox Warren, Manitoba Died - John EDGAN foreman in a camp of Treat and |
| Johnson, contractors on the Grand Trunk Pacific construction, 20 miles from Fox Warren, was |
| blown to pieces by a dynamite explosion last night. It is supposed it was accidental. |
| EDISON |
1907-01-26 - Edison, Alberta Died - Mrs. EDISON One of the saddest tales of life on the prairie |
| in the history of the Canadian west was related to the Journal last evening by Dr. McInnis who |
| brought to the city the news of the total destruction by fire of the home of the Edisons at Edison |
| and the consequent death of Mrs. Edison, the pioneer woman of the settlement who succumbed |
| to injuries during the fire. The saddest part is that within the past two weeks two deaths have |
| occurred in the family. Mr. Edison, the head of the settlement, whose name the post office bears |
| died a week ago on Sunday and the next day, his grandchild, the son of Jack Edison, also died |
| and the two were buried together on the same day, being the first to be laid in the new family |

| S. Saskatchewan was fatally injured recently while unloading wheat at the station. |

1907-03-01 - Edmonton, Alberta Died - Carl EKERT The death occurred today of Carl Ekert a |
| German, who has been in this country for about 5 months. He leaves a wife and 4 children. The |
| funeral takes place on Sun. at 2 P.M. |

1907-10-01 - Toronto, Ontario Died - Charles ELLINGSWORTH 29, a conductor on the Toronto |
| street railway was killed by a car which passed over him. |

1907-06-19 - Toronto, Ontario Died - Clara ELLIOTT With a handkerchief under her mouth, having |
| an odor of chloroform, Clara Elliott. 18 years old and daughter of Charles H. Elliott was found |
| dead last night on the floor of Dr. Snell's surgery, Spadina Ave. It is thought it was accidental |

1907-01-11 - Edmonton, Alberta Died - Robert L. ELLIOTT The death occurred yesterday |
| afternoon of Robert L. Elliott at the Misericordia Hospital. The deceased came west from his |
| home near Norwood, Ont. for his health and taught school for about four weeks near Ponoka. He |
| was taken ill with nephritis. He was unmarried and about 31 years of age |

| kick from a horse a few days ago. |

1907-08-06 - Strathcona, Alberta Died - Eliza EMBLIN On Aug. 5, Mrs. Eliza Emblin. aged 57, wife |
| of Stephen P. Emblin, died. |

1907-10-29 - Edmonton, Alberta Died - Elmer ERICKSON Pinned to a sewer pipe with several |
| feet of earth on top of him, Elmer Erickson, a Scandinavian workman employed by the Canadian |
| White Co. on the trunk sewer work, was killed this morning. He was about 20 years of age and |
| unmarried. He came to Edmonton this spring from near Erskine or Stettler where his friends live. |
