Bennett is Nominated as the Candidate.
An Enthusiastic Conservative Convention for the
New Calgary Constituency. Sixty Eight Delegates Present.
When the convention of Calgary district Conservatives met on Thursday morning
in the Maclean hall, there was an excellent attendance of delegates from all
parts of the constituency, as per list published yesterday.
Dr. Lindsay was moved to the chair, and Dr. Macdonald appointed secretary.
A credential committee, consisting of Messrs Crandell, Closkey and Marshall was
appointed. The committee having reported, the convention adjourned until 2
p.m., when the list of the delegates --- ---- --- is present.
Before proceeding with the nominations, Thomas Tweed, president of the
Territorial association, Senator Lougheed and J. J. Young, M.L.A., were called
on for speeches. On the suggestion of Mr. Tweed the meeting proceeded with the
organization of the Calgary District Conservative association, for which the
following officers were elected:
President, E. H. Crandell.

Okotoks; Dr. Brett, Banff; J. J. Marshall, Gleichen.
Secretary: M. S. McCarthy.
