Sacred Heart Students in Closing Exercises.

The closing exercises and distribution of prizes to the pupils of the Scared Heart Convent took place Wednesday afternoon in the presence of the school trustees and a large number of relatives and friends of the pupils.
An excellent programme of vocal and instrumental music, as well as some cleverly rendered recitations, was entrusted to the little boys and girls of the junior classes, who performed their different roles very cleverly indeed, and afforded lots of entertainment to their audience.
One of the prettiest items was a scarf drill in which twelve little girls took part, and went through graceful and artistic movements to an appropriate musical accompaniment, artisticall executed by Miss A. Boyd.
Another very pleasant item was a selection from "Esteher," in which the solo parts were very acceptably rendered by Misses E. Sparrow, F. Baker and M. Roman. An opera schottische, in which nine little girls took part, was also very capably rendered. Nine other little girls sang "The Gleaners" in costume and sang as prettily as they looked. The soloists were Misses M. Symons and M. Sinclair.
The boys of the school added not a little to the success of the entertainment. "A Life on the Ocean Wave," a chorus in which twelve voices took part was one of the best numbers of the afternoon. An instrumental selection in which Albert Rouleau and J. Robinson (violins), J. McHugh, O. McHugh, W. Macdonald and Harry Nolan (pianos) took part was well executed. Harry Nolan recited "The Alarm" very cleverly, and Bertie Cudlip was also  successful in his rendering of "A Cheap Dinner."
This programme was rendered:
