Summer School at Edmonton.
Some of those who are to take part in the Presbyterian Summer school at
Edmonton, which opens Saturday, are beginning to arrive. Calgary, it is
expected, will be well represented at the meetings.
The following programme has been prepared for the occasion:
1. Mormonism, four lectures-- Rev. Professor Kilpatrick, D. D., Winnipeg, Man.
2. Religious Life in Canada, Past and Present-- Rev. J. R. Robertson, B. A.,
Grand Forks, B. C.
3. Christ and Humanity-- Rev. H. J. Robertson, B. A., Chilliwack, B. C.
4. Recent Discoveries in Babylon, Their Significance-- Rev. A. Ewing, Victoria,
B. C.
5. Some Notes on the Old Testament Prophets-- Rev. A. M. Gordon, D. D., Banff,
Alberta.
6. Sabbath Schools-- Rev. J Henderson, New Westminster, B. C.
7. Pedagogical Aspects of Sabbath Schools-- Rev. A. O. Macrae, Ph. D., Calgary.
8. A Conference on Personal Religious Life-- This will be held at one of the
earlier sessions and will be led by Professor Kilpatrick.
The order in which these lectures, papers and addresses are to be given will be
arranged subsequently. Sufficient time will be allowed for relevant discussion.
The Rev. R. H. Warden, D. D., general agent of the Presbyterian church, and the
Rev. Jas. Carmichael, D. D., superintendent of missions, will be present, the
Rev. Principal Patrick,
D. D., of Manitoba college, and the Rev. Marcus Dods, D. D., of
Edinburgh, Scotland, are also expected.
The ministers of other denominations will be hearily welcomed and are invited
to participate.
