STREETS:

Laid out rectangularly. Those running east and west are called avenues, and are numbered consecutively, First avenue being farthest north.  Streets, running north and south, are numbered east and west from Centre Street.

 

HOUSE NUMBERS:

On streets, number from 100 to 200 lie south of first avenue; from 200 to 300 between Second and Third Avenues, etc. On Avenues, from Centre St. to first street west, numbers run from 100 to 200;  between First and Second west, from 200 up, etc. Even numbers on North side of Avenues, odd numbers on South. On streets, even numbers on east side, odd on west.
