RUPERT’S LAND SYNOD TO MEET IN CALAGRY

 

 

Many Prominent Churchmen to Gather here Wednesday to Transact Business

 

The Synod of Rupert’s Land will meet in Calgary on Wednesday. There will be from 60 to 100 clergy and laymen present. The approaching session is of special significance, it is the first time the body has met formally west of Winnipeg. It includes representatives from Ontario to the Pacific Coast, and many eminent churchmen will be present.

Business of unusual importance will be transacted incident to the provincial status to be assumed next month.

Archdeacon Fortin of Winnipeg, arrived yesterday, the Bishops of Saskatchewan, Winnipeg, Qu’Appelle, Athabasca, and Mackenzie will be present. Archbishop Matheson, of Winnipeg, will provide at the deliberations of the Synod.
