HOLDS FIRST LUNCHEON
Members of Calgary Canadian Club Meet Together this Afternoon.

Large Attendance at First Luncheon – Calgarian’s
Unite in Fostering Canadian Sentiment.
The first luncheon of the Canadian club of Calgary, was
held today between the hours of 12.30 and 1.30 o'clock. This luncheon was a
most unqualified success for an initial gathering, over 100 of the member’s
being present. The rooms of the Young Men's cub, under the Methodist
church, were used for the luncheon and proved an ideal place for the function.

After a thoroughly substantial luncheon had been disposed of the president, W.
L. Walsh, K. C., commenced the after proceedings.
The secretary read letters of congratulations as to the formation of the
Calgary Canadian club from the Canadian clubs of Ottawa, Montreal, and
Edmonton, the latter taking the form of a telegram from President MacDougall of
Edmonton, expressing the hope that the west would be truly Canadian in its
aspirations.
Secretary Adams was unanimously instructed to forward suitable replies.
President Walsh then delivered his address on the origin and objects of the
club.
