The engagement is announced of Miss Ruby Sutherland only daughter 
of Mr. and Mrs. James Sutherland, of Newmarket, and Mr. E. Sterling 
Cody of Wolsely, Sask. 

The marriage of Mr. Charles Ross, assistant manager of the Dominion 
Bank at Toronto, and Mrs. Charles Holmes formerly of Toronto and 
daughter of the Late Charles Cameron, of Collingwood, was quietly 
celebrated in St. George's Church, Montreal, recently. The Rev. Paterson 
Smyth, curate performed the ceremony. Mrs. Holmes has been travelling 
about for the past two years with her daughter and sister, Miss. 
Cameron.

Mrs. J. Kenwood will receive at her residence 278 Eighth street on the 
second and fourth Thursday in each month.

Mrs. P.T. Butchardt, who has recently moved to her new home, 428 
Seventh street, will not receive this week nor again until the second 
Friday in November, receiving there after on the second and fourth 
Fridays in each month.
