CLOSING EXERCISES OF ALBERTA COLLEGE

The Yearly  Commencement Exercises Take Place in McDougall Methodist Church-- The Prize Winners of the Past Year.

The annual closing exercises of Alberta College took place last night in McDougall Methodist church and were attended with much interest. The chair was occupied by P. H. Butchart and there was large number present of those interested in the college work.
An interesting and enjoyable musical program was given in which the following participated  Misses Pansy Kemp, Bertha Wetherbee,  Irene Tait, B. M. Battrick, Pilkie, Tait,  Zella Hawe, Bensia Pilkie, William and Margaret Williams and Mr. Telfer.
A feature of the evening was an interesting address by C. T. Sullivan, one of the most popular members of the staff who leaves shortly to assume a position in McGill university. Mr. Sullivan's address was replete with good advice to the students among whom he has labored for the past two years.
Following are the results of the examination as announced last night:

Prizes, Medals and Scholarships.
His Honor Lieut.-Gov. Bulyea-- For double course: Harry Adshead, Millford S. Eby, (divided).
Premier Rutherford-- For Shorthand Course: Mable Hammond.
Victoria Old Boys' Association Scholarship, presented by Rev. J. Coulter, B.A., President: D. H. Telfer and A. E. Ottewell.
Dr. Gaetz Scholarships-- W. J. Hampton, A. S. Hodgson, Miss Jean Telfer, Miss Marguaretta Williams.
Gold Medal in Penmanship; donated by T. Elston: Miss Ruby Matthews.
Penmanship Diplomas; awarded by Penman's Art Journal of New York for excellence in penmanship. Hon. mention: C. D. Edwards, Ruby Matthews, Milfrod S. Eby, W. D. Craig.
Diplomas in Bookkeeping course-- C. R. Walred, M. S. Eby, W. D. Craig, C. Moir, Miss Lotta Dixon.
Diplomas in Shorthand course-- Miss Mabel Hammond, Ruby Matthews, Edith Astly, Muriel Sparling, Ethel A. Greene, Minnie Miller, Mr. Harry Adshead, Misses Stella Beatty, R. Clapp, Tottie Beeley.
Certificate; D.L.S.-- Intermediate, Mr. O. Inkster, Mr. C. W. Ritson; final, Mr. J. Williams.
