CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.
The regular meeting of the Caledonian Society, held in the
Mechanics' Hall last night, took the form of a social evening. President J. H.
Bell was in the chair and the attendance was large. An excellent program of
music was rendered, songs being contributed by Mrs. Aitken, Messrs. H. Wilson,
A. R. Mitchell, A. Graham, George McLeod, and Lamond; original readings by Mr.
R. Anderson; violin solos by Mr. T. Irving, and mandolin selections by Mr. H.
Esplin. Miss Greta Grant danced Shean Treens. An orchestra, composed of Mrs.
Neil, Messrs. R. Neil, G. McKinley and D. McKinley, gave several selections and
the pipe band under Major Tom Craig provided stirring music. The evening was
concluded by a dance. This society will hold a Burns' banquet on January 24.
