ATHABASCA LANDING.

To the public school at Athabasca Landing belongs the distinction of being the
most northerly public school in America, east of the Rocky Mountains. In the
past there has been great difficulty in securing regular attendance of pupils,
but since the present teacher, John Simpson, formerly of Guelph, Ont., took
charge on Sept. 1st, there has been a wonderful change. Mr. Simpson inaugurated
a new system of giving daily marks with excellent results.
The following list shows the relative standing for October of each of the
forty-five pupils who attended the Athabasca Landing school during that month:
