LIBERALS LAST NIGHT NOMINATED CANDIDATES.
There was a Number of Names Proposed But Dr. Egbert Won the Convention.
Hon. W. H. Cushing and Dr. W. Egbert were last night
named as the Liberal standard-bearers at the convention held in the committee
rooms in the Caledonia block last evening.
The nomination of Mr. Cushing was a unanimous one and that of Dr. Egbert was
made so after he was voted the second choice of the convention.
Other nominations were:
D. MacGillicuddy by P. D. McTavish.
Dr. Mason by James Short.
Col. Walker by Henry Haskins.
James Short by W. M. Davidson.
W. L. Bernard by George Cloy.
C. T. Jones by C. B. Munro.
C. B. Reilly by C. T. Jones.
J. C. McNeill by Dr. Costello.
The vote for the various candidates resulted as follows:
Dr. Egbert, 54.
Dr. Mason, 10.
C. B. Reilly, 9.
D. MacGillicuddy, 9.
W. L. Bernard, 2.
