A series of examinations have been held recently in senior
standard IV. of the practice school and the results indicate that the pupils
have a splendid grasp of the work taken up during the winter terms. The names
in the order of merit are as follows:
Ethel Dickie, Isabel White, Robert Kitto, Wilmot Turner,Nellie Thirwell, Edith
Vince, Alice Copley, Norma Soley, Florence Marshall, Reggie Thompson, Allena
Peters, Harold Carson, Lillian Bailey, Howard Galloway, Gerald Stenden, Hilda
Lane, Cecil Duke, Hilda Soley, Willie Baker.
Convent Examinations.
The results of standard VII. examination held at the convent this week,
in physical science is as follows:
Margaret Kelly, 89 per cent; Ethel Hopkins, 89 per cent; Margaret Muir, 88 per
cent; Agnes McMillan, 85 per cent; James Kenny, 83 per cent; Harry Nolan, 81
per cent; Lizzie Hickey, 70 per cent; Dorothy Cuddy, 66 per cent; Alice
McCaffrey, 64 per cent.
College Boys For Matriculation.
The total attendance at Western Canada college numbers now 102 boys.
From this institution there are about 25 pupils being sent up for the
matriculation examination, some for preliminary and others for the complete
matriculation.
Several are going to try the examination for the University of Alberta.
The Western Canada Mounted Cadet corps have begun drilling.
Some of the officers are:
Captain-- F. Armstrong.
First lieutenant-- P. Young.
Second lieutenant-- A. Geddes.
Sergeants-- T. Wylie and H. Powell.
Corporals-- A. Fitzherbert, J. Craig.
