AT CONFERENCE.
Connexional Officers Elected By Large Majorities.
Victoria,
B.C., Aug. 24.-- The order of business at the general conference today was the
election of connexional officers.
The work has been completed, and every officer was selected on the first ballot
by large majorities. Besides the elections of the two superintendents, Drs.
Carman and Chown, already appointed, the following were elected: Secretary of
home missions, the Rev. Jas. Allen D.D.; secretary of foreign missions, the Rev.
T. E. E. Shore, D.D.; secretary of education, the Rev. J. W. Graham, D. D.;
secretary of temperance and moral reform, the Rev. T. Albert Moore, D.D.; book
steward at Toronto, the Rev. W. M. Briggs, D.D.; editor of the Christian
Guardian, the Rev. W. B. Crighton, D.D.; editor of Sunday Schools periodicals,
the Rev. A. C. Crews, D. D.; secretary of Sunday Schools and Epworth leagues,
the Rev. S. Bartlett, B. A.; editor of The Wesleyan at Halifax, the Rev. D. W.
Johnson, D.D., by unanimous vote; book steward at Halifax, Mr. F. W. Mosher, by
unanimous vote; honorary lay treasurer of the missionary fund, H. H. Fedger,
unanimous.
