FIFTIETH BATTALION PROMOTIONS ANNOUNCED
Captain L. Johnstone Is Now Junior Major of the Regiment
A lengthy list of promotions issued by Lieutenant
Colonel E. G. Mason, officer commanding the 50th battalion, C.O.E.F. shows that
Sergeant James Dafedi has been granted his commission. This promotion should do
much to encourage men of the 50th as it shows that good men will be given every
opportunity to rise from the ranks. Following is the list as issued this
forenoon:
Captain L. Johnstone, to be junior major.
Captain L. O. Webster, to be officer commanding A company.
Lieutenant F. R. Farquharson and Lieutenant J. F. Costigan to be captains.
Lieutenant L. J. Hextfield to be signalling officer.
Lieutenant G. F. Aylward to be assistant adjutant.
Sergeant James Dafedi to be lieutenant.
Lieutenant G. E. Amberg is taken on to the establishment.
