11 CITY FIREMEN HAVE ENLISTED
Fire Department Contributed This Number to Ranks During July.
The city fire department has been doing its bit to help the Empire. During the month
of July no less than eleven members of the department have left the
fire-fighting business in Edmonton to join the overseas contingents that may go
to the front in the defence of the allies. These men are all in splendid
training and should make the very best of soldiers. They have all left good
positions that they might be of service to their country.
Those who have severed their connection with the fire department this month and
have enlisted are:
From No.1 hall: John N. Cawsey, operator; Ernest C. Deming,
operator; Chas. S. Gauld, Geo. Cochrane, Harry Standley and Geo. Stuart,
firemen;
from No. 2 hall, Albert Sullivan, chauffeur;
from No. 4 hall, Wm. Connelly and Wm. H. Irwin, firemen;
from No. 5, Jas. Montgomery, fireman, and
from No. 8 Alex. Rae, fireman.
