HASTENED TO AID OF NATIVE LANDS
Eighty Serbian and Montenegrin Residents Have Left the City
It is not generally known that over eighty Serbian and Montenegrin reservists
have left Edmonton and district since the war started in order to go to the
front and assist gallant little Serbia to stem the tide of German, Austrian,
and Bulgarian oppression. No word as to their fate has reached Edmonton, but in
the earlier days of the war, and especially during the Teutonic advance when
the Serbians, overwhelmed by the force of numbers, gradually retreated until
only a narrow strip of their country was left, the numbers of the Edmonton
reservists must have been greatly decimated.
The following is a list of those who have left Edmonton:
