CITY PHYSICIANS HONOR FIVE DEPARTING COMRADES

Edmonton Medical Men Give Dinner at The Macdonald-- Those Enlisting for Service at the Front Are Presented With Suitably Inscribed Cigarette Cases.

The medical men of the city gave a dinner in the banquet hall of the Macdonald last night in honor of Dr. Ferris, Dr. Proud, Dr. Keillor, Dr. Sheffield and Dr. Holmes, who have volunteered for active service. Dr. Ferris is with the 66th; Dr. Holmes is going to the front at a later date with the A. M. C.;  and the others are leaving immediately with the British A. M. C. They were presented last night with suitably engraved cigarette cases as mementoes of the occasion and as marks of esteem in which they are held.
The toastmaster was Dr. C. L. Holmes. The guests of honor were Hon. Frank Oliver, M. P., Col. G. B. McLeod, Col. McKinery, Rev. Dr. McQueen, and Dr. Tory. Those also present were: J. F. Adamson, W. A. Atkinson, Wm. Beggs, J. F. Boyle, A. L. Campbell, J. F. Carmichael, L. C. Conn, D. L. Dick, D. J. Dunn, W. O. Farquharson, C. W. Field, F. J. Folinsbee, A. Forin, E. J. Garner, G. C. Gray, F. R. Harvey, J. Hislop, J. M. Holson, J. A. McPherson, J. P. McDonald, J. C. MacDonald, J. P. McCormick, P. A. McDonald, J. J. S. McDonnell, D. McGibbon, J. A. McGibbon, F. S. McPherson, R. F. Nicholls, J. MacD. Oswald, J. Park, T. H. Prust, D. G. Revell, B. C. Sutherland, N. L. Terwillegar, R. B. Wells, G. L. Williamson, H. H. Moshler, T. H. Whitelaw.
The toasts were as follows: " The King"; "Our guests," replied to by Dr. Ferris, Dr. Keillor, Dr. Sheffield, Dr. Proud and Dr. Holmes; "Army and Navy," responded to by a vigorous and entertaining speech by Hon. Frank Oliver; "Army Medical Corps," proposed by Dr. Dunn and replied to by Dr. Mosher; "Local Regiments," replied to by Rev. Dr. McQueen, chaplain of the 101st regiment; Col. McLeod and Col. McKinery; "Der Tag of Victory," to which Dr. Tory responded.
The arrangements were in the funds of a committee consisting of Dr. R. B. Wells, Dr. Holmes, Dr. W. W. Lalley, and Dr. Jas. F. Boyle; and music was supplied during the evening by Dr. Biggs, Dr. F. S. McPherson, David Jones, McBride and Porter.
