Winners of Duke of Connaught Prizes
As announced some time ago His Royal Highness the Duke of Connaught,
Governor-General of Canada, has generously donated twenty bronze medals for
competition in connection with the recent Public School Leaving examinations.
By arrangement a medal is awarded to the candidates making the highest mark in
each inspectorate and in the case of the bigger centres, Calgary and Edmonton,
medals are donated to the two candidates obtaining the highest marks.
On this basis the twenty medals have been awarded as follows:
Edmonton-- Alice Joyce, Queen Alexandra School, Edmonton; Rena Roll, Queen
Alexandra School, Edmonton.
Calgary-- Foley Alexander Martin, King Edward School, Calgary; Wesley Watts,
Hillhurst School, Calgary.
Onoway-- Ada Alberta Lent, Smithfield S.D., Duffield.
Stettler-- Morris E. Brown, Alix.
High River-- Laura Schmeelke, Champion.
Tofield-- Lizzie Walkemeyer, Camrose.
