Graduating
Exercises
The graduating exercises of the Brett hospital held in
the Sanitarium Hall on the evening of June 22. The graduating class of 1916
consisted of Miss M. Joyce, Miss M. Svenson and Miss J. M. McLeod, all three
nurses having passed their examinations with the highest honors.
Lieut.-Governor Brett gave a splendid address and presented the diplomas, after
which the Rev. Mr. Grant and Rev. Mr. Archibald spoke to the nurses wishing
them all success and Godspeed. Miss Joyce had already received a very
flattering offer in Lloydminster which she has accepted. Miss Svenson will
leave at once for Canmore where she is to take charge of a hospital. Miss
McLeod will return to her home for a brief holiday before taking up again the
duties of her profession.
At the close of the graduating exercises a most enjoyable dance was held in the
hall. All Banff was invited and all Banff enjoyed, refreshments being served in
the evening in the dining-room of the Sanitarium hotel.
