Awards for Bravery Are announced in Current Issue of Canada Gazette

 

The current issue of the Canada gazette contains the announcement that a number of Edmonton men have been awarded decorations for bravery on the field. It is a gratifying fact that Edmonton is represented in nearly every list of the kind published in the Gazette. The latest List is as follows.

Of the Canadian cavalry, who before enlistment was a member of the Edmonton fire brigade. He is known as the Edmonton poet, a number of his contributions having appeared in the columns of the Bulletin.

He enlisted in Edmonton on august 20, 1915. the decoration is “For conspicuous gallantry in action.” There being added. “Although twice wounded he remained at his post, Later he carried a message to battalion headquarters under heavy fire, and himself captured two unwounded enemy prisoners.” He gets the distinguished conduct Medal.”
