Another
party of Edmonton young men who have joined the forces of the Royal flying cops
will leave the city Wednesday for Calgary and will entrain from that city Thursday
for Toronto, where they will commence their training. The party, which is in
charge of Major Thomson, chief recruiting officer for the province, will

Another
well-known Edmonton boy in the person of Sigvald Nielson, only son of Mr. And Mrs.
S. Nielson, 23rd street, has enlisted in the flying corps and left
for Toronto via the G.T.P. on Tuesday morning to take the aviation course
before proceeding over seas. “Sig” as he is popularly known is a graduate of
Victoria high school of this city, and has just completed the teacher’s course
at the Normal school, Camrose. He was also a very enthusiastic worker in the
Y.M.C.A.
