MILITIA SCHOOLS NOW UNDERWAY
Six provincial militia schools are opening at the armories this week and three of the number got underway on Monday night. Instruction is being given in the following branches of the service, the names of the officers in charge also being given.

An artillery school is also being held at Gleichen with Capt. Craig, M.C. of Esquimalt in charge.
The officers conducting the schools are all assisted by sergeant-instructors from the permanent force.
The schools will be conducted for a period of six weeks instructors being given for two of three evenings a week. The duration of the course extends from 54 hours in the case of the artillery school to 36 hours for the other schools. The candidates, numbering about 100 are all taking these courses voluntarily with the object of qualifying for higher rank.
The infantry, machine gun and signaling courses opened on Monday evening. The infantry school will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the future from 7:30 to 10:30 o'clock
The other schools will get under way during the remainder of the week, with the exception of the artillery, which will start at the beginning of next week.
When all the courses get under way all the instruction facilities of the armories will be in use every evening.
