19th Alberta Dragoons Entertain at Smart
Military Dance at Armories.
The Commanding Officer and the officers of the 19th Alberta
Dragoons entertained at an enjoyable dance last night in the Connaught
Armories when the guests of honor were the Commanding Officer and the officers
of the Lord Strathcona Horse detachment now in the city from Calgary.
The festoons of red, white and blue, the uniforms worn by the officers and the
many attractive evening gowns of the ladies presented a bright picture. The
patronesses of the evening were Mrs. P. E. Bowen, Mrs. G. W. Marriott, Mrs. R.
Belcher, Mrs. F. C. Jamieson and Mrs. C. Y. Weaver, and among the dancers
noticed Col. and Mrs. William Roger, of Gibbons; Major Devey, L.S.H., Calgary;
Col. and Mrs. F. A. Stewart Dunn, Col. and Mrs. P. E. Bowen, Col. and G. W.
Marriott, Col. and R. Belcher, Col. and F. C. Jamieson, Col. and Mrs. C. Y.
Weaver, Col. and Mrs. H. H. Sterns, Col. and Mrs. Louis Scott, Major and Mrs.
Gillespie, Major and Mrs. Holland, Major and Mrs. G. Van Tausk, Major Strachan,
V.C.; Major and Mrs. Watson, Major Oliver, Capt. and Mrs. Turner Smith, Capt.
