BADGES AWARDED TO ELKS' SCOUTS
Presentation of King's Scout Badge Features Thursday Meeting
Badges were presented to boys who had qualified at a meeting of the Elks' Own
Troop of Boy Scouts on Thursday evening. C. A. Hayden, one of the patrons of
the troop, attended and made the presentations.
A feature of the meeting was the presentation of a King's Scout badge to
Ken Cherer, who has served for only nine months in the Scout movement.
Badges and certificates for junior St. John Ambulance work were awarded to K.
Cherer, G. Haney, T. May, R. Bracken, E. Pym, J. Jones, H. Irvine, J. Irvine
and G. Steel.
Other badges presented were: K. Cherer, pathfinder, electrician, healthyman,
marksman, and grade B cords; Geo. Haney, marksman, carpenter, laundryman,
metalworker; F. Dooley, musician and carpenter; H. Irvine, carpenter and
fireman; A. McKinley, laundryman; K. Mitchell, airman, cyclist and carpenter;
J. Irvine, carpenter and fireman; S. Nickle, pathfinder; D. Smith, carpenter
and fireman; T. May, electrician, cyclist, musician; L. Kerr, second class; R.
Bracken, carpenter, fireman and laundryman; E. Pym, carpenter, laundryman,
marksman and musician; G. Steel, laundryman, carpenter and fireman.
