150 OLD TIMERS ATTEND REUNION
Many Pioneers of District at Banquet and Dance in Acme District
ACME. March 8.-- (Special)-- Acme Old-Timers' Association held its sixth annual
reunion here Wednesday, March 2.
The evening opened with a banquet served by members of the Ladies' Aid, at
which 150 old-timers attended.
Miles McInnis, chairman, gave a cordial address of welcome to the guests.
An interesting programme was then given, at which the following artists assisted,
Woods brothers, Mrs. Kirkpatrick, Mrs. Frank Archibald, Mrs. M. Moseley, Mrs.
Rob Brown, Mrs. Greenway, Mrs. McCullough and R. Fowler. Short speeches were
given by Rev. J. McClenan and W. L. Tolton.
The main speaker of the evening was A. B. Claypool, M.L.A., who gave a splendid
address on "The Old-Timers and the New," bringing back to the memory
of those present many events of interest in the Acme district of olden days. At
the close tables were cleared and about 200 old-timers and friends joined in the
real old-time dances, to music supplied by Si Hopkin's orchestra.
