BANFF, Oct. 25.-- Representing the Rt. Hon. R. B. Bennett, Harry Nolan
presented Bennett medals to the winners Friday afternoon at the school.
Public school medals were given to Gwen Woolsten, Grade I; Rundle Bannerman and
Bobby Herbertson, Grade II; Angel Clarke, Grade III; Robert Crosby, Grade IV;
Zoe Barnwell, Grade V; Ethel Bannerman, Grade VI, and Margaret Hayward, Grade
VII.
L. S. Crosby, president of the school board, presided and A. E. Harding,

years or more, made a short speech.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Harry Cummins, president of the high school
literary society, took the chair. The first number was an instrumental one by
Alexander Robinson. Mr. Crosby then introduced Mr. Nolan, who, himself a Rhodes
scholar, spoke on the life of Cecil Rhodes, the Rhodes' scholarships and how
any scholar could win this scholarship through his own capacity and work.
Mr. Nolan then presented medals as follows: Pearl Rois and Florence Saddington,
Grade VIII; David Coysh, Grade IX; Margaret Campbell, Grade X; Douglas Crosby,
Grade XI, and Constance Clemens of Sedgwick, Grade XII. A musical selection by
the school orchestra concluded the interesting programme.
